Hello, World

This is the first post on zdale.fyi. I've been meaning to put a personal site together for a while, and I finally did it.

What this place is

A home on the internet. I'm a software engineer — platform engineering, distributed systems, data pipelines, fullstack work — and I've spent enough time reading other engineers' blogs to know that writing about what you're building is worth doing.

So I'm going to write about:

• Things I'm building or experimenting with
• Platform engineering and distributed systems
• Running (I'm a distance runner, it comes up)
• Whatever else I feel like

How it's built

Next.js, Tailwind, deployed on DigitalOcean App Platform. Posts are markdown files in the repo — no CMS, no database, just git push and it's live.

The font for headings is Vollkorn, a free serif by Friedrich Althausen.
